  • It's a terrible shame marketers consider unsolicited junk mail a viable means of reaching target markets. Typically, direct mailers send out catalogs or coupons to just everyone, regardless of the demographic, and hope they rope in a tiny, tiny percentile. To over 99% of the recipients, the mailing is a waste of time, energy, and paper. It's a notoriously inefficient means of marketing in every sense of the word, and in an era when inefficiencies are being pulled out by the roots wherever possible this needs to go first.
