  • Toyota plans on leasing 200 plug-in hybrid vehicles in Japan. They are developing these vehicles based on the third-generation Prius, equipping them with a lithium-ion battery that can be charged through external sources (such as household electricity). In times of energy source diversification, Toyota stresses the importance of finding the most environmentally responsible vehicles for its consumers. These vehicles are expected to achieve higher fuel efficiency, limit consumption of fossil fuels, and reduce CO2 emissions and atmospheric pollution. It is obvious that despite times of economic instability, Toyota refuses to back down on their own corporate social responsibility. They plan on introducing 500 vehicles globally.
